It depends what farming spot you are using. Maybe you could try to be a little more specific.

On a side note Cyclone axe is a great skill. Low enegy cost and fair recharge time! Only problem is if you're under threat from retribution or other skills similar. Don't over agrro with it though. Might be the last thing you ever do!

as cartello said its a very nice skill if the situation is right. anything that requires adrenaline works well with cyclone. dmg is fair, as said above recharge and energy cost are not out of line. good skill in my opinion. but as is the case with most skills it has its niche'.

I think whoever told you that was either having a laugh or just a bit.. new.
If it makes your farm faster go for it matey. Even if they all die and drop loot together it will have NO effect on what you will get. Silly superstitions.

I use it (along with whirlwind) when farming charr carvings. It's gives a nice damage bump and creates a good amount of adren.
Plus, each hit counts as a separate attack, so it synchs up nicely with [skill]Vigorous Spirit[/skill].

I wouldn't use it in an area with Spiteful or too much damage redirection, but it just feels so good to let mobs gang all around you then unleash that spinning attack

Cartello, I've heard that rumor as well, but to my knowledge that's all it is and it hasn't been proven. So keep using cyclone.

If you spam [Triple chop] then [whirlwind attack] then [cyclone ax] then [whirlwind attack] then repeat that chain stuff should die pretty quickly....

Your order is wrong :P you should do Cyclone - whirlwind - triple - whirlwind - cyclone - whirlwind

It doesn't make a difference. But, if you want to get technical, Triple Chop does more damage. You'll want to use it more, and thus using it first means it's on recharge sooner as opposed to later, so you can use it more often for more damage, instead of Cyclone Axe which is an inferior version.

Nice try though!

Yes, you'd want to use Triple more because it deals more damage, however with 10 recharge, instead of cyclone's 4, your "chain" is more interrupted than mine is. Cyclone - whirlwind - triple - whirlwind - cyclone - whirlwind can be done without stopping, unlike triple - whirlwind - cyclone - whirlwind, as the chain would continue with cyclone - whirlwind before triple chop could be used again.

With a 4r recharge on Cyclone it gets stopped for an auto-attack or two either way. Not to mention that the damage on Cyclone is a 1/3 of Triple Chop, which means you'll get in more damage anyway.

Okay, here's a better example. Cyclone axe is exactly half of the sword mastery elite hundred blades, but has +10 damage attached to it as well. It's better, in fact. Since the two AoE attacks are broken up, allowing for more frequent Whirlwind Attacks, wich are +20 damage. Yes, Triple Chop is +40 damage, wich is far superior and I understand that. However 10 + 20 + 40 + 20 + 10 + 20 = 120 bonus damage, and 6 pulses of AoE damage as opposed to 40 + 20 + 10 + 20 for +90 damage and 4 pulse of AoE damage in roughly the same amount of time... But to be honest, who cares? if you're using your elite for triple chop, you should exchange that entirely for echo and just echo whirlwind.

Snow : let's just say your chain has more interuptions and the reverse at least gives the impression that you do more dmg by activating more skills in the same time.

It's a rumor and nothing else indeed, I remember a thread a long time ago that tested this (if I had time to look for it I'd searsh it).

I remember they tested a Soj 55 farmer (mass death) and a SV farmer(1 by 1 death) vs the same undead in Istan HM, teh 2 entered at "exactly" the same time (-+ 0.1 second) and got the same proportion of gold/white drops on every run (that'S what the 2 said, they gave a couple of screenies where they had a 1-2 drop diference).
